Frequently asked questions
How do I start a guide?
Open the app, choose your language (audio guides are available in 9 languages), pick a place on the map or in the list, and tap play.
Can I use the guides offline?
Yes. Mobile coverage can be weak in the mountains and inside monasteries, so download the guides you plan to use while you are on Wi-Fi, before you set off.
I can't hear any audio
- Check your media volume and make sure the iPhone silent switch is off.
- If you use Bluetooth headphones, make sure they are connected to this device.
- Close the app completely and open it again.
- Update to the latest version from the App Store or Google Play.
- Still not working? Delete and reinstall the app, then email us.
The guide doesn't follow my location
- iPhone: go to Settings > GuideMe > Location, choose "While Using the App" and turn on Precise Location.
- Android: go to Settings > Apps > GuideMe > Permissions > Location and allow access.
- Location works best outdoors with a clear view of the sky.
How do I redeem a code?
If you received a GuideMe code, for example from a hotel or tour partner, follow the steps on our redeem page.
Purchases, restores and refunds
- Purchases are processed by Apple or Google. If you reinstall the app or change devices, tap Restore Purchases in the app while signed in with the same Apple ID or Google account.
- iPhone and iPad refunds: request them at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Android refunds: request them through Google Play.
How do I delete my data?
